That is the way I first saw the car and my photo from 1962 or 1963 shows
the same with doors and window.

The center door opening at the NYC subway site looks like a tarp -- as
I mentioned above, my photo shows the same as the URL here with two
windows and striping like on the front of the vehicle. PRCo was
quite thorough in what they did and the car was complete and ready for
service with the enclosure and windows when I saw and photographed
it. This tarp *-suggests-* that those new center doors were
removable // made to open OR the doors were removed and replaced with
the tarp.
