1940s and is looking for corrections if any.

I thought that I would put this info on the record before rigor-mortis 
(read dimentia, Alzheimer's, or whatever) sets in. Let me know of any 
additions or corrections.

OK to list-post as corrections and additions are welcome.

"For the modelers and for whatever it may be worth, the following route 
signs are as I remember them in the mid 40's AS THEY APPEARED ON THE 
CARS. During later periods, many of these signs were changed to include 
more definitive information -- as I say, this list refers to the mid 
40's, say through 1950. Perhaps someone else will rework this list to 
cover another time frame. Additions and corrections welcomed."

SPECIAL did not appear on the PCCs but it did appear on the rolls for 
the low-floors and 3800's. Uncertain about the others.

Note: For 57 - Route Name not shown on 4200's I vaguely remember that 
there was a 57-A and/or 58-A but I do not recall the wording thereon.
