Interesting is the London Transport method of transition from conduit to
overhead. It looked to be faster and easier than the D.C. Transit method.
Certainly better than being confined to the "pit" below the street surface.
Seldom, if ever, would such a large crowd assemble anywhere in the United
States to bid farewell to any mode of public transportation.
