You might want to look at the Boston PCC cars Seashore was advertising for sale 7-8 years ago, including several ex. Dallas examples. They've had a couple decades of outdoor exposure to Maine coastal weather.
By comparison, the Trolleyville car that went to McKinney Ave.

Perhaps there are degrees of rancid. A quarter century at the MBTA didn't do any favors to any of these cars.
