Things have really not improved much since this morning. Saw Mill Run Blvd
remains closed between Bausman St and Library Road, as is Banksville Road
and even Washington Road in Mt. Lebanon.. While water levels have gone down
a new line of storms are just now coming into Allegheny County with heavy
rain and strong winds. Port Authority issued the following news release:

Wednesday Afternoon Service Update

A portion of Port Authority’s Library Line will remain closed through this
evening’s rush hour – and likely into tomorrow morning’s commute – due to
debris and flooding on the tracks.

Blue Line-Library light rail service is operating between the North
Shore/Downtown and Lytle Station. Riders traveling south of Lytle must
transfer to shuttle buses that will take them to the line’s remaining
stops.

Red Line and Blue Line-South Hills Village light rail service are operating
on regular route.

The Library park and ride lot experienced flooding today and Port Authority
Police officers will be there this afternoon to assist vehicle
owners. Additionally, we were informed this afternoon by police that access
to the Large Park and Ride lot has been cut off due to flooding on local
roads.

Service status is subject to change if further storms occur and delays are
possible systemwide on buses and rail.

For additional information, call Customer Service at 412-442-2000 (TTY
412-231-7007). The phone line is staffed with representatives until 7 this
evening and reopens at 6 a.m. tomorrow.

Updated 4:30 p.m. END OF NEWS RELEASE

I have been wanting to get to the Giant Eagle at Brentwood Town Center all
day but have not gone out since the traffic on Brownsville Road is, as it
has been all day, bumper to bumper and nearly standing still. Maybe after
nightfall I'll be able to get to Giant Eagle.

I'm glad I'm on Brownsville Road which runs along, and at the top, of a
ridge for its' entire length.
