[PRCo] Problems of Getting Books Written

And I have done my damndest to try to convince Dick Hasselman to write a book about his career—even offered to be the ghost writer.  Absolutely no success.  What a shame.

I have substantially edited and in parts rewritten and added to a history of Wheeling Traction Co. for Seashore, but they lack the will (or money) to publish it.  Again, a shame.

Perhaps Ed could negotiate a release of the incomplete project to PTM!?

About six years ago a friend wrote a railroad book.  Since then he's been asked to write a follow-up book but he has absolutely no interest in re-open ing the subject.

In my mind, John, I also questioned whether or not Seashore would have bothered to regauge Pittsburgh trucks or simply get a pair of standard gauge B2 trucks from Boston.   The fans would never know.   But I admit to not wasting my time to see what happened to all the wartime era Boston PCCs. 

It's one thing to write the book on the subject.   Another thing to keep one's head so involved in that topic that you miss everything else going on in the world since 1980.   The answer is, once those books were put to bed, I went on to other interests.
