Second Ave. work started at Tenth St. bridge and had been completed to about Bates Street by PAT takeover. There was still about a mile - or less to go to Greenfield Ave.
Fifth Ave. work was in vicinity of Third Presbyterian Church. The 'Mohawk' fantrip (1664???) included photo stops on the single track. That was an era when rail service was continued during major track renewal work.
For a great $12 lunch, you and your high school classmates should try the La Brasserie Parisienne across Place St. James from the Cathedral in Compiegne.

It was a great example of four guys trying to remember the past. Two of us are having trouble walking … I am one of those … and that is difficult when I remember the days I could start a day on the Norside and walk to Library or Carnegie carrying a ton of camera gear.
